I have a little male pac gopher, 14" when collected in March (probably a late '07 hatchling that barely got to eat, if he ate at all, before winter came) - he's about 19 inches now, maybe a tad under - and weighed 60 grams at his last shed (on the 17th).
I started him out on two fuzzies a meal, and recently moved him up to two hoppers. He only eats live, so I'm at the mercy of the pet store when it comes time to feed him.
Yesterday - they were all out of live hoppers, but they did have weanlings - so I got him one, figuring he might be able to handle it - but would take him awhile.
Not only did he handle, he wolfed that sucker down and was looking for more!
Pits are an awesome snake - everyone should have at least one!
