Isabel Outside: Blackbeard, Shriveled, Flowers

Earlier today when I had isabel outside, she was giving me the most amazing blackbeard! Her beard was pitch black, and she'd open her mouth and keep it open! I tried to recreate the conditions this afternoon, but didn't have much luck.

Whenever I take Isabel outside, she immediately starts shriveling up like this, aon the shriveling just gets more and more exaggerated. She also hyperextends her hind legs. I don't know what purpose this serves. It is accompanied by watching the sky for birds. Oh, and she turns very dark.

I totally understand in "beardie-ism" what the black beard means, but when Jolie opens her mouth & sticks that beard out, I just laugh at her...she looks like a total Muppet! And with the open mouth -- it's just a huge smiley grin...:D I think it flusters her when I smooth the beard back & pat her head, because she instantly calms right back down...:)
 
That is a nice photo with Isabel next to the hibiscus.

I know I don't respond to all the Isabel threads but ... I do enjoy them.:)
