Tricolor Hog Zee Goes Wild!

Nanci

Alien Lover
So I was walking around this morning, looking for photo subjects. Some adults ate last night, lots of babies are blue. Then I saw Zee! He's looking particularly dull- I don't know if it's because he's gotten so much black tipping, or because he's getting ready to go blue. Zee is a 2006, and he seems to have reached his small adult size. He isn't comfortable in trees, and only wants to get down. On the ground, he only wants to burrow. My only flower shot is pretty dismal...

Fine, maybe Zee would like a trip to the water garden. I can't imagine this sissy liking to swim, either, but maybe.

Well, apparently whatever rainforest in Bolivia his ancestors came from had a lot of water, because with no hesitation at all Zee was into the water and swimming at a rapid speed, around and around, even submerged! It scared me a little, I was afraid he'd come out and over the side and escape under something!

Finally he came up at one of the safe sides, and was up, out and over, down into the grass, and he took off running as fast as he could! I've never seen this snake run- he barely crawls, he always burrows! It was so cool!

Is it safe??

The fish are too small to eat him. If he ate fish, he'd be the right size to eat them! I wonder what they think. Whenever I have my arms in the water, pulling off dead leaves or whatever, they always crowd around me.

Well, I don't think he would...he was swimming very fast, not lounging around waiting for prey. If he bit a fish, I would rescue it.

Lol thanks for the laugh Nanci. This is soooo cool. I would love to see more snakey swimming antics. Wish I had a pool for my lot :p
