Luna's Double Clutched!

Lynnea

That's "lin-NAY-ah"
I know a Ghost isn't too exciting, but got some nice shots of Luna tonight. She laid her first clutch May 15--still waiting for pips on that one--and gave me a very pleasant surprise tonight of 13 eggs from a second breeding to a hypo het amel.

I removed the eggs soon after they came out; she was very docile. First pic is her close to finishing laying:

Next images are the last egg coming out:

And the final count!

They all seem good to me, just somewhat smaller and more oblong than last clutch. You can see the last egg, second from left on bottom row, a bit shiny as it had just been laid. Now she will have a well-deserved rest and a small meal first thing tomorrow!

Nice second clutch!! mine usually have a lot smaller second clutch ( I try to stay away from seconds anymore) They look good and healthy. It may be just a ghost, but if you love her she can be the most exciting snake in the world! :crazy02: congratulations

Thanks! She laid 25 eggs her first clutch, two have gone bad, so I was surprised to see such a large second clutch. She was HUGE before laying the first clutch, but still looks pretty good after this one. Last year she produced a clutch without having been bred, so she must just be a prolific breeder! She's my first snake, and I do love her, so now it's time for her to just take 'er easy.

Congrats!!!
Is she what is called a "silver queen"? She has a great background color.

No, don't believe so, just hypo anery. It's amazing how many variations there are in Ghost colors; here's a male Ghost (Casper) I just adore, unrelated to Luna:

It is amazing how much variety there is in each morph. Here is my ghost girl's baby pic.

looks like my old ghost line. some are just really bright, and silvery. I'd get bright and dull from the same clutch. I'm not a ghost guy, but heck, even the "drabest" corn is still good lookin' :p

Beautiful Ghost, Kimbyra! I like the Bloodred Ghosts a lot, too. I also have a granite, but he's much pinker than most I've seen, very similar to BR Ghost. Isn't all this stuff just great?? :)
