I just bought a new baby corn snake. I have the cage set up and I have a heating lamp.

is he is too small for a heating lamp?

how do I know if he is really a boy?

how do I make him less snappy?

fell free to give me plenty of tips. I'm new at this.
 
the only thing i can help you with is that (correct me if i'm wrong guys!) Babies are snappy because they are easy prey when smaller (in the wild of course) so its just instinct to be skiddish and snappy...

Would just like to add for good measure, please do not try and find out whether you have a male or female yourself. You must take the snake to someone with experience as you could cause an injury if you attempt this yourself.

You say you have a 'baby' corn then ask "is he is too small for a heating lamp?" but we don't know the age or size.. If after reading the FAQ you still need specific answers it's always best to give as much detail as possible so people can help you more easily.
