So today the Mississauga reptile expo was in Montreal, I had been waiting for 2 months counting down each day, and finally today had came.
First thing I did was visit WYZZA reptiles asking how my female ATB had been doing and Renee said it had taken another meal since I left the deposit on it last Wednesday, so it already has 3 meals in it now and should be good for pickup soon.
Secondly I went looking for BPs (for Mat/Putty), I spotted a pretty nice Pastel with blushing for 225$, It was the cheapest Pastel there but IMHO one of the nicest. And I think Mats setting him up in his house now as I type this. There were really nice morphs of Ball Pythons there, Bumblees were 1100$, Spiders were about 400-375$.
Thirdly I visited Northern Geckos, I asked how much this insane very dark (black) harly Crestie was, 250$, I only brought 290$ there (Went to the states last weekend spent waaaay too much) but they had extra males, And there was a crazy Dalmation for only 100$, and his name is now Jacoby, I'll get up pics later, but this dude is INSANE, The little dude saved me from my 'rents killing me when I arrived home with three new animals, AND it has given Mats mom a change of heart as she is buying a Crested Gecko at the next show! Not only that but Jacoby was produced by Anthony Caponetto! Northern Geckos offers me a female with Jacoby for 290$ (so 190$ for the female when he said her norm price would be 220$) but I declined, And I kinda regret it now...
I was leo hunting, specifically for females, bell albinos and blazing blizzards. I saw a guy who had a nice sized blazing blizzard female (adult) for 90$, I was torn between that or a hatchling beautiful intense bell albino female, he said he'd sell me both for 120$, deal.
Guess what, the blazing blizzard has pre anal pores. He has the bulge, HE a HE. I gotta admit I'm disappointed. Not all hope is lost though, best case scenario, my Blazing Blizzard who is the same size around, may be a female, it is very hard for me to say, where the bulge is supposed to be is whats making it hard for me to determine right now. Its not as flat as my definite female trempers area but not big like the males, and the pre anal pores arent obvious yet, so theres hope. Worse case scenario is that I have two male blazing blizzards but the one i bought today is old enough to breed to my tremper girl anytime, I'll save Snowbell for the new bell girl in a year or two. If the bell ends up being a male...well I think I'd explode.
BUT OVERALL - It was my first show, I've never seen so many beautiful reptiles in one place, Mat got an awesome BP, and we got our other friend Matt (with two t's) into Corns, he bought a hypo off WYZZA and got it for 50$, maybe he'll be joining the forum. Also, no matter what i brought home one hell of a Crestie which I will HAVE to post pics of!
