Where to get mice

Sadly due to Petsmart my local Pet store is going out of buisness. It's been there since before I was born so that really stinks, but what is worse is as soon as they close I'm out of mice. Petsmart here charges $13 for 4 mice, so I refuse to buy them, so does anyone know a good website to order mice and pinkies from?

Thanks for any help.

oh wow, there are a lot of places to choose from :) The mouse factory, big cheese are, I think, who most order from. I, myself, order from americanrodent... I always order quite a few when I order and when I buy $100 worth the shipping is free... might be for you as well since you are on the east coast. I have never had any problems with the mice or rats but they dont come vacuum packed is all. But I would rather seal them myself than pay shipping lol :)

Mouse Factory because:

Pinks and fuzzies are vacuum packed in TOUGH packaging that has never arrived at my house torn open.

Hoppers on up are on a styrofoam tray, vacuum packed in TOUGH packaging that has never arrived at my house damaged or opened.

Dry Ice is a solid block, wrapped in newspaper so you and the packaged mice don't get burned by it. I just got a package two days ago and after the package sat outside, in Florida, all morning and afternoon till 5:00PM, the temp in the box was 18F.

The box is sized appropriately, lined with styrofoam, and the packaged mice are cushioned with newspaper.

The mice are clean and white without bedding or poo clinging to them. They do not smell dirty.

One time I cheated on The Mouse Factory, with horrible results:

I've only bought online from RodentPro. I've been happy with their mice and their service.

I would strongly recommend The Mouse Factory I used them for a long time. I now use Big Cheese just because I place really big orders which is also really good.

I gotta agree with the Mouse Factory! Great mice from there..

Sorry to hear about your pet store.. I really miss our old local one as well.

I would recommend getting as big of an order as you can use in the year, the reason is that when you fill the box, you get a much better price per mouse since the shipping is expensive for a small amount.

The Mouse Factory has a section where it shows you various combinations of mice including the shipping cost.

You're going to love mail-order mice and wish you'd made the change so much sooner!

Another vote for the Mouse Factory, because they can have your order to you the day after you pay! They're really great. I've never gone anywhere else to compare, but that's probably because they're so good.

Also, once they accidentally sent me 100 large pinks instead of 50small and 50large pinks. On my next order they threw in the pinks for free, except since I didn't really need the small pinks anymore they gave me large ones. How's THAT for great customer service!

Another time they over charged me maybe $10 or so, I think it was something like the shipping ended up not being as much as they originally quoted.. so what they did was knock off the $10 from my next order.. and my next order was maybe.... I don't know 6 months later. They still remembered and stayed true to their word!

I would definitely say to go through the Mouse Factory. I've had RodentPro's mice before (from a local herp shop), and comparing the quality of mice between the two, i've found that TMF is significantly better than RodentPro's. I'm pretty sure my snake agreed, too. When I was giving him RodentPro mice, he'd bite at the head and swallow. When I gave him his first TMF mouse, he struck at it at least 5 or 6 times and then looked for the head to swallow.
The only "issue" I found was 1 pinky whose head was not attached at the body. I found the body at one interval, and I found the head at another. But if that's all that's damaged, I have no problem with it. I've heard of a lot worse - tails missing, more than 1 headless mouse, etc.
In short, i'd say to definitely go with TMF. :) You can't go wrong with them, and Edna is a sweetheart!

I just ordered from Big Cheese Rodent Factory, and they came with a block of dry ice and were still very frozen, vacuum sealed. Very nice size too, and cheap. I'd suggest them, but I've also heard very good things about The Mouse Factory.

Thanks a lot for all the great answers, I'm going to try TMF first and if I like them I'll stick with them. I'll be ordering soon because the pet store is closing very soon.

I tries RodentPro but found I definitely prefer the vacuum sealed of TMF. Infact I need to order some soon. Little snakes gotten bigger, needs bigger food!
