People...

I know....
I hate it too.
Too many pet shops tell people that it is fine to cohab.
And too many people listen to that.

Why doesn't craigslist just allow people to sell animals instead of the fakey rehoming fee?? It's just too sad to even look at it.

Aside from cohabbing, what's so wrong with those Craigslist ads? I mean, I get why not to cohab, I don't do it, and as a former caretaker of piranhas I know better than most why it's important to know what can and cannot live with an animal. However, It seems to me that linking those as egregious animals of poor snake keeping is an overreaction. Those snakes looked healthy.

You don't see it do you?? *shrugs*

I agree, a book read is a must, genetics is a good start.. But what do I know.. *lol*

Regards.. Tim of T and J

No, what did I miss? I checked it again and didn't see anything in his description or pics to alarm me, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Because this isn't just a guy who got some snakes and doesn't want them anymore, he is breeding corns, reptiles and... If someone pays him the "rehoming fee" it encourages him and his bad practices.

Craigslist prohibits the sale of animals. That 'rehoming" fee on the babies is about the same as what most breeders SELL their animals for. It violates the TOS of that site, not to even get into the ethics of breeding or cohab.
My main objection is the purpose of the pets section of that particular site is to rehome unwanted animals. There are other sites that allow sales but people like CL because so many people know about it.

True, I've done it before.
I tried to "sell" my beardie because lack of space in my room when
I moved up here. Kept getting deleted everytime when I JUST post it there.

I recently saw another AD in my area where somebody is trying to "re-home"
his anery and snow, he had it since the hatchling according to info.
He homes them on sand (T-rex Sand), no hides, just huge peice of logs in the center. I was about to email him and say, You were not supposed to home them on sand and they requires 2 hiding spots. I changed my mind, I was like let him go, not my business.

Personally, I can't imagine putting my reputation/consious/integrity/...whatever on the line if I were lacking so much knowledge & know-how. Anyone who produces babies (even if were an "accidental" clutch) should have a genuine concern about current well-being AND future well-being of the animals (babies and adults)... it's too bad.

BTW, I have a strange man (don't know his name) and a horse (don't know the breed) that have been co-habbing for years (don't know how many) and they have produced centaurs (don't know the sex) once a year, inquire about the re-homing fee.:D

There is a GTP on my local craigslist! And a lavender cali king, an mbk, countless BPs, a yellow anaconda, leopard geckos, corns, RTBs, etc. I think they ought to just allow selling animals- call a spade a spade, and quit with the fakey rehoming fee. That pisses me off.
