My new baby

dogsNdragons

and Corns, OH MY!
Talk about impulse buys...

I was helping my friend decide on a bird and fell in love with this guy (I have always wanted one).
This is Cosmo a 3 month old Hahns Macaw. Hahns are the smallest species of Macaw being about 12 inches long. He is such a love and starting to try to talk.

He's a beaut!

We have one here on holiday at the moment called 'Captain Jack' and he NEVER shuts up! Such great little talkers and one of my favourite species.

Congratulations, i am very jealous!:D

Thanks everyone.
Right now he is sitting on my shoulder preening my hair. :D

What a sweetheart! Wonder what his first word will be?

Well, it is between "Step up" and "Leave it!" (I have to keep reminding the dogs that he is NOT a snack :( ).

Congrats on the bird! I'm a huge fan of the "smarter" birds...I've always wanted a Sun Conure, I just don't have the time that they would require. I can't say I've ever seen a Hahns Macaw, but he certainly looks like a cheeky little fellow! :)

That's awesome! Congrats. I really want a parrot of some kind, but don't want to get one until I have the room to give it a maxed out cage.

He's so cute! If you don't mind me asking, what was his price tag? Lol I love birds. =)

I guess I shouldn't be shy about that considering what some people will be spending on Herps this weekend at Daytona :D
He was $800 which is median for that species. The larger Macaws (Blue and Golds, Scarlets) can go for $1200-1400. I am glad that I had overtime for the past two paychecks.

I love Cosmo!! congrats on such a beautiful new addition :0) Can't wait till he starts talking! :0)

He's beautiful. I don't believe I've heard of a Hahn's Macaw before. Had no clue Macaws came in such small packages. (makes me think one could be in my future) Thanks for sharing him with us.
