from personal experience, does anyone have opinions on handling Garters? I'm assuming captive bred are easier than wild caught, but are they usually tame, or do they tend to be more nippy? Or does it just depend on the individual snake?
 
Some species of Garters are more aggressive than others, from what I heard Eastern ones are most likely to bite.
I had 2 Garters and they never bit. They just musked and were very skittish. After a while they calmed down, though.
I imagine WC ones are more aggressive than CB, but it depends.

I find them to be a bit squirrelly. They are probably one of the more wound up snakes you could get. I have one that is an 07 and every time I open up the cage it flies out. It is the fastest snake I own. lol
