Giraffe the angry Sonoran!

Tula_Montage

It's Jager time!
This is the newest member to enter my house. Hes a 3 week old albino Sonoran gopher snake. YES he is that bright!

He is super duper agressive (I have the bleeding wounds to prove it). And he was the clamest out of the whole clutch believe it or not. Another pressie from snakie friends! I really like bullsnakes, but they get too huge for me. The breeder also had albino bulls that I could have chose, but he suggested I take a Sonoran due to their smaller size.

I named him Giraffe because his saddles reminded me of a giraffes saddle shape, and of course because of his blazing colours. That sort of reminded me of an African sunset.

He is impressive! I really like the Sonorans! I'm still waiting to catch one of his cousins (a bull snake) in the wild around here. Not to keep, but to simply say, "Yes, I did!" LOL.

I do wish I lived in England though... so that when you were "through" with him, you could send him to me! LOL.

Congrats ont he new acquisition, Elle!!!

Fred

Absolutely stunning! I love the color, and the attitude in that third photo makes me want to take him home. lol. Even if he is a little devil! ;)

Nice snake. Looks good. So these are the smaller version of Bullsnakes?
nope, they are the cousin of the Bull though.
I own a girl that is about 6.5 feet long and eats 1.5 pound rabbits. They get big. (do a search on Selu)

Dammit Elle, I think you should get rid of this snake right now. send it state side to my house. ;)

I have to question this like Janine, this is an outstanding specimen of this species, why get rid of it? I can promise you that those genes in that snake would produce some awesome babies.

I am not trying to flame you but seriously why get an animal or have animal that you are not going to keep?

Beautiful Elle, nice photography as well. Really great colors. Sonoran gophers live here where I live. I see them on the road on the way to work in the morning. They do get bigger than corns. Maybe 6' (2 meters).

I was thinking the same thing. I see that as no different then the kid who returned his cornsnake a week after getting it because he didn't like the color and decided on a ball python instead.

A temporary snake?

nope, they are the cousin of the Bull though.

Well the thing is guys, his breeder is getting out of "the game". And intends on freezing every single baby (about 12) plus snow bull, patternless pine etc adults because he simply cannot cope with the "hastle" and stress of snakes anymore. So I have mad him a deal, if you give me two weeks I'll sell them for you only if you promise not to freeze them. Then he said would you like one LOL. So at the thought of poor Giraffe going in the freezer, I took him with me. Get some nice shots, get some adds up, get some interest in Sonorans and move him on with his clutch mates.

That way these beautiful snakes don't have to die because someone couldn't be bothered with them...

Beautiful colors, so vibrant! I looked at a nice little gopher like that but i decided against him because he had a little kink at the end of his tail. Superb snake!

That's just horrible! Gosh, I really don't know what to say... so perhaps I should just leave it at that...

Really terrible...

Yeah... far worse than taking on a couple of "temporary snakes"...

I'll get them sold though, and they will get new homes. If they don't I'll take them all in until they do LOL.

Elle, I just want to say those colors are not normal for a Albino, especially for a sonoran. If you lived state side, I would take the entire bunch and breed them into my line. Seriously, Albinos don't typically come that bright orange.
