Considering a juvie Beardie

I've been wanting to pick one up for a long time, and I've finally gotten settled in at my new school. Been reading about them for ages, so I feel like I have a pretty good base level of knowlege.

Anyone have any tips or thoughts on getting a juvie beardie? Any reccomended breeders?

I've been looking at A-1 Reptiles, Annapolis Bearded Dragons, and Dragonz Whispers.

Georgia Bearded Dragons always has the prettiest ones at the shows...

A question I'd as is specifically, what is it eating? (Mine turned out not to eat anything besides insects).

They are great, as Nanci said ask what its eating, mine wont eat crickets for example so you wouldnt want to go out and buy loads of certain foods if they dont eat it. As far as tips go erm I dont know really lol, just that thye are great little monsters.

I got my female from Draggintails and my male from Justin Ruffing (in Ohio).
Both have beautiful Beardies and were great to do business with.
Both of my Beardies are great, healthy, beautiful, and they eat very well (accepting/eating everything ... greens, pellets, worms, crickets, etc.).

Not sure what tips, to give, other than making sure you select a healthy Beardie and to take your time in your search (IOW not, automatically, going for the first Beardie/breeder you come across ... or something akin to that).

Okay, thanks. I will look into some of those listed breeders. The guy from Annapolis Bearded Dragons has not gotten back to me in four days. So I've pretty much marked him off my list.

The biggest thing Ive been warned about with beardies is that they like to eat. A lot. Just something to keep in mind, you've probably run acrossed that elsewhere but it's what has kept me from picking one up.

I loved having our beardie, but man, feeding him was work! I started with crickets, but so many got loose in the house, they wife said "NO". Then I started breeding silkworms for him, but the silkworm chow and that production was kind of a pain. That being said, they have great personalities. Good luck on your search!

I've dealt with Bob at Sandfire Dragon Ranch and the
folks at Alpha Dragonz, both are great!
Bob helped "Write the book on Dragons" and is a wealth
of knowlege & info.
My only other concern is to be sure you have the correct
UV light for the habitat size..
Good Luck

Thanks for all the advice. I am pretty excited about this. I've got leos and cresties, who are great, but Beardie's are like scaly dogs from what I've read and experienced (had a friend with one in college)
