Will frozen feeders last longer in ice?

With more than enough on hand to get me through the winter should I freeze my excess in water?

Will they remain good for say a year?

Was mostly thinking nutrition as far as my concern.

Thanks,

Gary

You can freeze excess pinkies dry, and store them in an airtight container. (Some people vacuum pack them).
I would think thawing out pinkies frozen in water would result in mush, but Ive never tried it.

With pinkies it would damage the thin skin to bursting when thawed (bursting or worse, shedding the skin! ewww). I have no idea how a furred mouse would hold up but typically vaccume sealing them dry, then freezing, can make them last even over 12 months.

I should have said adult mice and small rats.

Is there any advantage placing my excess frozen feeders in cups of water and refreezing or should I just leave them in a ziplock bag as is?

Was wondering if they will still be good a year from now?

Thanks again,

Gary

I guess it depends on how long you intend to freeze them. From what I've learned on here, they can be kept frozed for 6 months or more with no problems. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!

If your freeze them in water vs. vaccum sealing them your size will have a greater chance of having forzen burn. And who knows if your snake is that picky or not.
