Hola! Ibizan rockpools (and ouchies!)

diamondlil

Mice! They taste so nice!
The coastline where we stayed was showing its volcanic origins with scary jagged rocks and only a few sandy areas. Of course, I had to pursue the marine creatures, and found a little purple jellyfish, some little blennies and gobies vigorously defending their territories from my toes, little crabs, limpets and top shells in the rock pools.
The pools were not as populated as I'd hoped, but then there wasn't much in the way of seaweed etc, probably because the swell was quite violent here even when the weather was fine, and I found crusts of dried salt in the pools that had baked dry in the sun. (Apparently in the past the Phoenicians dried and traded sea-salt from Ibeza)

Then I discovered why Jaques Cousteau didn't hop around rock pools in flip-flops. I was getting closer to the sea's edge when I slipped over and got these ouchies! I cut my knees and a big toes on the rocks, and wrenched my shoulder saving the camera from being immersed! I had to sit in the sun and dry off and wait for the cuts to stop bleeding, thanking my lucky stars I hadn't hurt myself worse or dunked the camera.

Hey, watch it! Whenever my kids (4 + 9 - for an explanation read my profile) show me their ouchies, I slap their ouchies (softly of course). Mostly I do this because with that many kids, I would be looking at "owwwies" ALL DAY LONG! LOL.

Glad you didn't get too hurt and that you were able to save the camera. That way we can see more pics -- Which are WAAAYYYY kewl, btw! Thanks for sharing!

Haha! Luckily Pete is 'Mr Contingency', so between us we had a fairly good med kit. My Knees took the brunt and are starting to bruise up now, and I couldn't use my arm properly the next day, I took anti-inflammatories with me in case the travelling affected my back and without them and Pete to look after me I'd have been stuffed! (Couldn't even use my arm to change my clothes, wash properly or put on deodorant, so I would have been a very stinky person!)
