Introducing new mouse

Murf301

Believe The Hype!
I just started a mouse breeding project...i went to the store yesterday and bought 1 male and 1 femal cuz he only had one female. i came back the next day cuz he got more in but when i added the new female the male is chasing her around and shes squealing. its not none stop but he is chasing her.
ANY ADVICE?

Maybe he is just trying to mate?
Usually when introducing a new mouse it is the females that don't like and fight with the new females. I would just let them be and they will work out the pecking order. Since they have not been in the new surroundings for long it may help, when they have been together in a cage for a long time they tend to get much more territorial.

Probably too late now, but when introducing new mice it's always best to completely clean the enclosure and discard any cardboard or wooden objects and wash everything to remove as much of the scent as possible. Then introduce them all into a clean new environment.

As for the chasing, it sounds like mating behavior. As long as no blood is drawn I wouldn't worry about it.

It could also be that he's just showing who is boss. It probably is mating since they're male and female, but mice do that to mark their territory, too.
I wouldn't worry about it if there's no blood and guts. =]
