How Often Do You Take Your Snake Out of Its Viv?

I feel so bad with all my studying for finals I haven't been taking my snake out for exercise too much. How often do you take your snake out?

There's some snakes I NEVER take out. The chondro for example, it's just not practical to handle her. Or the ATB.

Corns I take out every few days, the boas a couple of times a week. It depends on who's in shed, who has fed, who is grumpy etc etc.

Snakes like to be left alone ;)

I usually take my guys out 2 to 3 times a week. Sometimes more or less. I take the babies out more to get them used to being handled. I have a couple babies that like to bite me every time they get a chance and I really want to hold them enough that they get used to me handling them before they become adults.

I take mine out for stress relief (for example, right now during my finals! hehe), so he gets taken out quite a bit. ;) Unless he's shedding or eaten (I wait two days for digestion), I normally take him out on a daily basis unless he's cranky.

I used to take mine out every day or every other day (switching out- 2 a day) but lately with finals, I've been taking them out, handling a little bit before feeding and to spot clean...

Don't worry about it too much, like Elle said, they like to be left alone and really only tolerate use holding them, they don't like it...

I only take my adults out to feed/do a thorough clean (they stay in during spot-cleaning), so that's once every 2-3 weeks. Even then they never come out for exercise, just to be moved to/from their feeding tanks and given a quick once-over for potential health issues.

They don't crave human attention for the most part, and are perfectly happy to be left alone. Don't feel bad - it's not the same as it would be if you ignored a dog or a cat.

Adults-the males comes out to go into females tubs, and all of them come out at least twice a year while I clean their cages.
Neonates-get cupped for feeding, so technically they come out once or twice a week.

Usually just for cleaning their cages.
Once in awhile when I have a few minutes I handle one to relieve stress (for myself) and bask in their beauty. It's rare though.

depends on the snakes. I have 2 year old corn that when ever I get home from work except for a couple of days of feeding that comes to the door of the viv and begs to be taken out. When I slide open the door he comes out on his own into my hands. So needless to say we watch a lot of tv together!

My favorites, Noah and Choco, come out every night for TV. Jasmine comes out several times a week, as do Cherry and Colorado. The others get to come out if they are out in the evening, but mostly the others hide. Inez doesn't really have to come out ever- she hates it.

Make me feel guilty why doncha???!!! :) I don't handle mine near enough if you ask my daughter! They are out at least once a week, but I try more often... just my hours often leave very little time for them, which is why I don't have a dog or even a cat. The poor horse at least has other horses out there with him....sigh....

I have a baby and so i just hold him about 2 or 3 times a day for about half an hour each little session :) but i let him digest for about oh i don't know a day or two.

I have a baby so get him out three to four times a week. He gets left along for three days after eating.

When you see me post new pictures, that's when I've taken those guys out. My kingsnake NEVER gets handled though. She's a demon in disguise.

Not near as often as I'd like or should.

But that's all about to change had to move to a new city away from family the snakes will be coming with me and are getting major housing upgrades while they are with me in my home away from home. They will be picked up a lot more, come the new year. In fact It's my resolution right now! }:>)

Yeah, but you probably have a life! I have nothing better do after dinner than watch TV series on DVD and snuggle with snakes. And I am very happy about that.

LOL Well, I do go out twice a week with my fella and one night a week I have a dance lesson... so that excuses me a couple of nights aweek.... I'm going to print out your post and paste it above my desk to shame myself :)

Well, Noah is my "fella" and Choco is my girlfriend. That sums up my romantic life! I just basically love having my snakes out, though. And I love photographing them out at the water garden, which is done for the winter...

I usually take my corn out when I have to change the paper towels which is every week or two. Sometimes when she is active I will take her out too.
