suction cups?

katieam

S for Sam!
ok so i got this new vine for kmy viv and i want to hang it using those suctioncups witht the metal hooks, but im afraid that he will hurt himself on the metal. does anybody have any ideas on how i can cover the sharp edge (or any other way to hang the vine :) )

thanks

I think I've heard a glue gun suggested to cover the hard parts...

I use suction cups from petco. They're made of rubber and half a loop for the vines/plants and I find these work really well.

I have some 3M Command mini hooks holding a fake plant, they have different sizes. I was a little apprehensive using an adhesive stick-on in the viv, but the glue is covered and they do not come loose.
I first used them in the top to hold wires for LED lighting and found them to be very secure. Make sure the surface is very clean so there is no chance of a weak bond, I didn't want it to come loose and have the adhesive side open in the viv.
I have had them in the viv for about 8 months, several cleanings, they are still just as secure as when I installed them. Two are on painted wood, one on Lexan, the ones in the top for the lights are on rough wood.

measley: i like that hot glue gun idea! thanks.

alan: i thought about using those command hooks, but i couldnt find any that werent white and i want something clear that i can hide. but thanks for the tip.

:D

I've heard the glue gun thing before and I don't know why I haven't thought of the 3M hangers, I use them for everything else, great idea!!!

If you're looking for a less permanent way than the glue gun idea, unscented candlewax will hold up well and I can't imagine it would be dangerous to the snake.
