feeding questions

i have a new hatchling. its acutally a reverse albion oaktree. i have heard differnt things about feeding. is it ok to feed in the same loacation they live or should you pull them out and put them into somthing else for feeding time.

I will assume you mean reverse okeetee right cause oaktrees certainly do not eat pinkies, lol. Just kidding by the way. For the first few feeding most advise halfing a frozen pinkie lengthwise, thawing in a baggie placed in warm/hot water for 30 minutes and then yes feeding in a separate container to avoid ingesting any substrate from your cage. Good luck and no handling for 3 days to avoid a regurge.

Right from the egg I, and I would have to say MOST people, feed whole frozen/thawed pinkies. If your pinkies are HUGE you can maybe halve them. I'm talking about a 7 gram snake eating a 2 or 3 gram pinkie no problem. Snakes are eating machines!

thanks all for your suggestions... i used to have snakes when i was young, but when i had my first child the wifes family had a fit with the snakes in the house so i had to get rid of them..
