Last night was feeding night for my snakes, and as soon as I opened up the container for one of my '08 Reverse Okeetee keepers (Ziggy) I thought "Uh oh...". She's one of the more active ones and I knew that if she wasn't out of her hide exploring, then there was something wrong.
I carefully tore apart her container and came to the realization that she was gone!!!:awcrap:
I carefully and calmly went about feeding all the snakes while looking for her as well. I alerted my fiance and he got on the ground and pulled our snake supplies out from where we keep them and checked all through that as well as under the bed.
My concern was that the last time I saw her was Sunday (cleaning day) and she very well may have escaped then when I wasn't looking which would mean that she had been gone for TWO DAYS :nope:.
I was doing my best to keep calm, hoping that she'd turn up while I was feeding the rest.
By the time I was done feeding everyone I started crying. We have 8 cats that go in and out of the house all the time (not to mention my bedroom/snakeroom) and I was sure that one of them probably got her.
At that point I decided to pray. I said "Lord, please bring her back. I know that you wouldn't want anything bad to happen to her, and I have faith that she'll show back up.".
Then I went to bed. I woke up the next morning and started to get ready for work. Then I remembered "Oh yeah... Ziggy is gone :awcrap:", so I started to pray the same prayer as I was grabbing my things together. Right as I was finishing, I opened up my underwear drawer (top drawer) and pulled out my box of Proactive, and underneath THERE SHE WAS!! She was curled in a ball sleeping! The little sneak!
I have NOOOO clue how she ended up in my underwear drawer (or why she even liked it there, the little perv) but I'm sooooo happy I found her. I immediately went to my fiance's room and woke him up to tell him, lol.
She seemed a little disappointed when I plunked her back into her old tub and immediately went underneath the papertowel and pouted; her adventure over.
Praying, keeping hopeful, and not freaking out really paid off. I highly suggest this method if you ever lose your snakie
.
And don't forget, they could (quite seriously) be A.N.Y.W.H.E.R.E.
