Found after 6 mos...

Hi gang...
last fall I lost a Honduran milk. He escaped from his container, well today my cats found him alive and no worse for the wear it would seem. It is back in another container and well secured.
Should I wait a few days to feed this little one? He was about 16 weeks old when he disappeared and is now not skinny but a little on the light side. He is back on heat in my hatchling rack and I am due to feed everybody tomorrow. Never have found one this long after an escape so I consider myself lucky.

I'd say he's waited long enough, I'd feed once his heat is regulated.

I'd feed him a small meal, feeding too much too soon is really not good for them.
You can feed him a normal size meal a few days after he gets it digested.

Lucky find. I'm still mourning the loss of my Hypo (vanishing) Honduran Milk.

While moving out of the house I lost him in I stopped to chat with the men who were helping my landlord with the backyard. They remarked they'd seen a beautiful black and red snake under the hot tub. I was extremely excited until they said "we put him right over there", pointing to weeds which were by that time as tall as I was (residence of college students and zombie conspirators alike). "He should be easy to find, we just put him over there."

Easy to find. Mmmm hmm. I hope he's living a nice life in that garden still, keeping warm under the hot tub during winter.
Hrm... this is giving me bad raiding ideas. :fullauto:

update

I tried a small meal of a F/t pink and he refused. Anyway...I had to move some mice around and found a newborn live pink and tossed it in on a whim and he gobbled that right up.
Hopefully I can get him back on f/t in no time.

Congrats on finding him (intact) after so long! Thats got to be a relief.

I would give him a week before offering him any food. Let him regulate with the temps, and also get used to being back in his cage. I'm sure that the last 6 months were just a bit stressful on him.
