When to upgrade Plastic Tubs?

I've got a 7Qt/6.6L plastic tub that I plan to house a hatchling in soon. What is the max size she can be in order to continue to live in the tub? Or a better question, is there a general rule to determine if a snake has outgrown their space?

So I really need the dimensions of your 7qt tub. But I found Sterilite 7qt tubs online with the dimensions...they are 13.5x8.5x6.5in (LxWxH). My suggestions are based on these dimensions, however you can adjust what you read here to fit you dimensions...

Basically you want the LENGTH of your enclosure (tub, tank, custom-made, what-have-you..) to be 3/4 the total length of your snake.
You want the WIDTH to be 1/3 the total length of your snake.
HEIGHT is kind of up to you really, just use common sense, you need it tall enough so the top of the water bowl isn't touching the inside of the lid...or else your little guy/girl can't get to it...but I'd say for a hatchling 5-6in tall would be fine for a while.

^That being said, with a tub of the dimensions I noted above, your snake "could" be in it until it was 18-20 inches long or so...assuming my math is right

But anyways, hope this wasn't confusing...I am bored at work, and just took Benadryl (which damn near knocks me out) so let me know if it doesn't make sense!

I definitely know what you mean, about having to wait in between snakes. I am catching the bug fast...faster than my fiance...whoops!

There's a show coming up for me next weekend and I really hope I can go, that's where I plan on getting my albino if i do go... reptile store is my plan b

I've been wanting more snakes too and have been wondering whether plastic tubs are more economical than a fish tank. So I have a bunch of questions. Are UTT heaters not good for a plastic tub? ( In other words, do they get too hot? ) What do I have to watch out for with plastic as opposed to tanks??

I would really LOVE to come home with another snakey from the Berks show but need the set up first. I'm hoping things will get easier now that I have a NEW JOB to look forward to, :dancer::dancer::dancer::dancerne that isn't fast food and more in my line of work. I will be deliriously happy to say goodbye to the 2 week paychecks of $35.00!!!! My first and last paycheck will be the week of the Berks show. ( Thank God I'm married and we own our own house! )

Soooo maybe I will have the set-up by then instead of having to buy the set-up at the show!

I'd like to know more about plastic tubs too. I'm a college student so I'm moving every few months or so, whether it's from home to the dorms or the dorms back home for winter break, etc. Seems like plastic tubs would be more convenient than a big glass thing. Ringo's an 08 baby, so he doesn't need a whole bunch of room yet =]
