supposed to be on double pinkies but...

Hey pumpkin is supposed to be on double pinky mice starting today since she is now 16g but the pinkies i have are from petco which look terrible. They are a nasty grey color and they both weight only barely 1 gram each. I am supposed to give her two, two gram pinkies. I really want her to get big and get on fuzzies but it wont be a while if I have to feed her these. Should I feed her 3 instead of two? please let me know what to do? I dont wanna buy mice online because i only have one snake so it wont be worth it. thanks!

The Munson plan is not law, it is merely a suggestion of what is "normal". All animals are different. There is no set of guidelines that should be followed for all animals of a single species.

A one gram pinkie is really small. I'd give it two and not worry a bit about it. Fresher is better but grey is all you have got.

Why do you want her big so fast? You should let her grow at a normal rate as this will benefit her more in the end.

With my first corn, I used to get my feeders from Petco and you're right about them being tiny... but I fed him on just 2 of them at a time before moving him up to fuzzies and he was fine and is getting big now.

Go ahead and feed her 2 pinks at a time until you run out and then switch her to fuzzies... that's what I would do.

i just fed her two and fed her two again last night as it was 5 days later. should i move her to fuzzies from petco now since they are probably small?

No need to rush or push but yes if you are now out of pinks you can switch to fuzzies.

Switch to fuzzies as long as they're not too big for her.

Fuzzies seem big for a 16 gram corn. I have the unfortunate knowledge of how painful it is to deal with a regurge worrying your snake will die. I see others say go for it, but 2 pinks even tiny ones every 5 days seems like a sufficient meal for a corn this size. Growing fast isn't a sign of health. The best analogy I can think of was given to me by Allen Repashy "Do you pick out the fat kid on the playground and remark how healthy they must be" Probably not right? I say be conservative for now, but thats just my 2 cents.
