I may go deeper...like 18 inches. But here is the rough draft...flexwatt will be across the back of the shelves providing bottom heat.

Umm...you should make it to where it holds 5-7 34qt tubs being 26.875 x 6.75 x 17.375
And then...write some step by step instructions so I can do it to...

If I use those tubs, 2" would hang off...but I could fit 2 on each shelf, which would be 8 tubs...and those have more floor space than a 20L tank, so those would be sufficient adult size tubs I believe...
Ya, I'll go 24" deep, I don't mind 2" hanging over, and it's not worth all the extra cutting that would have to be done to make them say, 28" deep.
 
Do you mean like make it to where you can fit two 34qt tubs side by side on each shelf?
Cus I never thought of that..and I like it...
And then just have a strip of flexwatt running along the back of each shelf to heat the tubs...

Nevermind...I decided that it would be too big and the rack would stick out too far from the wall.
Although I love the idea of having plenty of room to add more snakes in the future, I think I'll have to make it to fit one tub on each shelf...maybe I'll just make it a few extra shelves taller and leave them "empty" so I can have the option of adding one or two new tubs/snakes in the future.
 
Or I might puss out....
I think in the next year or so I will be moving, so I may just get 4, 20L tanks, and two stands (that hold two tanks each) and have one in the living room, one in the bedroom...

Not sure...gotta see what happens with some things...(hate that car pmt!)
 
Yes, but once I am in "my own" place again, I would have them out to be seen :D
Don't have the room for that now :( And the g/f wouldn't like having them out like that.
I think I would have my "favorite 4" in those, and then build a rack for the ones I get after that.
 
Oh I see. I plan on putting six of my seven in the rack and then my favorite in the 20L that I have in the living room for display.
And I might put one in the 10g depending on whether or not I decide to start a mouse colony...
Hmm...so much to think about.

Well I'm off here for now...checking out some apts. around here...I should be off and on during the day tomorrow and then back to work tomorrow night...
