Difference between rat/mice pinkies?

So, my boyfriend bought a different brand of pinkies called "Arctic Mice", and they say they're mice pinkies. But they're a little larger than normal, and when I saw Charlie (his corn) I was surprised! Charlie got fat! Am I just seeing things? The snake looks very thick, and the difference between body and tail is very noticeable. I heard that rat pinkies are more fattening. Is this true? Is this weight gain normal?

Rat pinks are about the size of fuzzy mice, maybe a little bigger, and they look quite different from a mouse. For one thing, they have a very large head. You'd know.

Mice are kind of like Twinkies at very young ages (full of fat). When they start to get hair they start to gain more proteins and mice are generally more fat then rats. Of course you need to also factor in what kind of feed they are raised on. Different breeders use different feed and not all of them are using true rodent feeds, and that will have an effect on the end result as well.

On a final note some of the large companies (no names mentioned) purchase from smaller breeders and market as their own product. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with this practice but you can not always tell how the feeders are going to affect you pets.
