I have heard several comments lately about the drama. Some jump right in and love it, others get upset about it, and some just avoid it. Personally I enjoy a good debate. I don’t expect to change anyone’s politics or religion, but I do enjoy the mental gymnastics. I think there are several others here who also enjoy it.

I know some don’t like it one bit. Some get mad and loose sleep over it. There are some here who think we should not be joking around or making trivial comments. Some believe we should discuss snakes and nothing but the snakes.

I have a plan. I don’t know why we all didn’t think of it sooner. If you start reading into a thread and find the topic starts to go in a direction that you don’t like, stop reading it. Make a mental note of which thread it was and don’t go back to it.

I think we should make this a sticky.

Let’s say it together. STOP READING IT. DON’T GO BACK TO IT.

You don’t need to comment, you don’t need to tell everyone you don’t like this kind of thread. Just stop reading and go away.

Oh but it is easy. I don't like cat threads. I don't read them. Sorry folks, I don't like cats. No hard feelings. I'm not going to read threads about them. But I still love you.
 
LOL...but the cute little kittens...I personally don't usually get involved in the drama...but oh how I love to read it :crazy01:
 
I'm going to be a tad serious here. (Sorry Wade!) Personally, I think this is an awesome community and I've stayed because of the sense of camaraderie as much as for the snake education and experience I've gleaned from others. I get a bit tired of hearing how horrible it is to have fun on this forum and what a horrible thing the General Chit Chat (doesn't the name say it all??) is. I can honestly say that I've never, EVER reported a single member of this forum, and I don't see it happening any time soon, but I think it's a ridiculous thing for someone to report something that dares to insult one's delicate sensibilities when the answer IS just as easy as Wade posted. If you don't want to have fun on the forum, then take your ball and go home, but don't try to bring the rest of us down for actually liking and enjoying each other.

I remember a Report Wade post... But as you know if anyone deserves to be reported, it's Wade.

I read the drama, sometimes it's amusing... But sometimes it's annoying. I think of this forum as a family and as anyone knows (who hasn't crawled out from under a rock) all families fight, they may not get along, but they still love each other!
 
Haven't you heard? It is now everyone's right to not be offended...If something offends someone, then it must be stopped...At least that is what the United States is coming to...

Jenne...I did make that sign that I was "Going to" report Wade, but I didn't actually. I don't admit this often, but Wade and I are buddies. I don't like saying that out loud because it goes to his head, but I think he's a pretty fungi.

I just recently found out that I've been reported twice by the same person. I cried, I mourned, and then I got over it.

By the way, if I've ever reported anyone, I was probably trying to rep you. I'm easy with the rep, but I'm very clumsy.

I take that back. I might have reported Michael when I thought he was going to blow Obamas chances. (All is forgiven) But the stakes have to be pretty much that high.
 
I think snakemaster24 reported me once....or someone else did on his behalf.

And I did report someone awhile back, but I can't remember who. I think it was a troll, and I reported because of obscene language and attacking a regular member here...(I think the attacked member was Nanci....and SORRY, but NO ONE attacks Nanci ....)

Great idea wade. It's one I support and actively engage in quite often. I also have zero problem actively participating in "drama" if/when I choose. MY problem/drama/issue is the increasing amount of sexual innuendo & psuedo-profanity that are becoming more and more prevalent. I still don't understand why the most active (by a long shot) cornsnake site on the web can't be fun and jovial and full of drama and sound debate and discussion and vehement disagreement and still remain family friendly.

It's just my humble opinion, but the "drama" isn't the problem, it's the slow gradual shift from G/PG to PG-13/R/NR that's taken place. Just to be clear, I'm talking about the public forums here, not the private social groups.

Mine isn't a new "complaint" by any means either: 2007 & 2008. :shrugs:

I guess all my school work this week made me miss the drama...oh well, lol I think reporting people has to be the most pansy immature ridiculous go to your mamma and cry about it action ever and you'll never catch me getting my panties all ruffled about someone elses comments- who cares. I agree with Wade no surprise there though I usually do. Whoever didn't like whatever was said should have taken this sage advise and not continued to read a post they were taking personally= thats just pathetic this is the internet for gods sake:(

Brent, this is the third or fourth reference you've made to this in the last few days, but again, I'm missing it. Is there a specific reference you can point us to? I LOVE that stuff, so I don't want to miss it. ;)

I love drama - even if I don't take part in it, and if I want to swear I go the aussi python boards. They neeeever "think of the children*" over there, and I love them for it.

*Except childrens pythons, obviously. But I hear it's OK to swear in front of them.
 
Lori your not unsociable I just noticed your sig, lol I think this forum is a great snake resource and great place to chat with both like minded and diverse people. No one is ever going to like everyone elses point of view thats just life but I hope people don't really take the disagreeing that personal. I haven't ever seen anything profane, x rated, or over sexual on here ever I guess I just miss it somehow, but really I'm with Lori i wanna see now. Everyone tastes are different but really if you want family freindly watch leave it beaver!
 
This whole thread offends me. I am going to continue to follow it closely just to make sure it doesn't escalate into real drama. If it does I'm reporting/repping everyone who posts and then I'm starting a complaint thread in some appropriate section of the forum; like say Sale Ads.;)
