Bring it on.
And too darn much to drink! As of 2pm on 5/20, the total rainfall over a 2.5 day period in Daytona Beach was 14.59 inches.

In this photo, the bridge normally goes above a canal. The canal is normally at least 5 FEET below the bottom.

Here's another shot of the canal.

Thanks for looking!

Reminds me of many years ago when we got 17 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. I spent the next day sand bagging a neighbor's house while my then 4 year old son climbed and played in the sand pile. Flooding is a mess with a long recovery period.

That is more rain that we get in two years. Put it in a box and ship it Fedex, we need the water.

I can't figure out how much we've gotten...

Be careful driving in that Robbie, you know what they say, Don't Drown, Turn Around! Srsly.

Yikes. That is a lot of rain all at once! We haven't had rain like that since 90-something I think.

So, gonna break out the pole and fish in the back 40?

We got 5 inches on Sunday...

in Polk. Been raining ever since. Lake Parker was down 4ft, now they are worried about it flooding streets.

THAT'S a lot of rain! And here I am whining about all this crap spread out over a three day period.

Hmmm... will FedEx do water? I know USPS does fish... you want some walking catfish?

Hey, it looks like it at least had stopped raining a bit. lol

It did... for a couple of hours. We're preparing for another "torrential downpour", as the weatherman says.

Pool party at your place?

Sure! I can pull an innertube around Daytona!
Boat tours only $20!

Water is one of the few things on the road that I will NOT mess around with, unless it's an absolute necessity. I respect the powers of water way too much. 2 feet is more than enough to pick up any size car or truck (with standard tires) and send it floating downriver. I prefer to not risk it.

I was actually gonna head down and fish the back 9 at the local golf course. Maybe catch an alligator or two. :D

I am very fortunate that the community I live in has a VERY good drainage system, so I haven't really seen any standing water that stays for more than an hour after the rain anywhere near my door. I've already seen several streets that are completely flooded over and the waters are up inside a few of the houses. For that small comfort, I am very thankful.

Wow, that is a lot of rain! Feeling like Noah?

With all the animals, a little bit. I've been half tempted to weld a couple of pontoons to the bottom of my house and mount a motor or two on the back and float my way down to some prime real estate.

Yuck! Sounds like you've been getting all the fun stuff after it sits here for a few hours.

Think of it this way, the wild corns will seek higher ground and may be easier to find?!?!? Huh, huh!

Well, either that or you could build an Ark?

Either way, all you Floridians, be safe!!
