What is the appropriate way to treat mice with Sevin and have no harm passed onto the snakes that eat the treated mice or mice from the treated tank/rack?

From what I understand, sevin dust, once it dilutes in water, it renders it inert (harmless). My wife uses it on her rodent collection, which I in turn feed to my snakes, well, some of them anyway, and so far I haven't had any problems.

I have never had a problem with it either but I defrost directly in water which will neutralize any sevin that remains on the fur of the rodent. I was told by my vet that there would be minimal residue from the granules either way.
I have a couple of stubborn older snakes who insist on live prey and I have not encountered any problems with the feeders here either.
Hope this helps.

When you treat the mice??? How??? Do you hold them by the tail and sprinkle it directly on them. Or do you Sprinkle it in the bedding????

I put a scoop (1/2 cup) into the bedding of each pen.
each tray holds about 4 scoops of pine shavings so the ratio is about 4-1.
Now the ten gallon tanks hold more bedding but still only get a scoop of the sevin dust.
