Questions about our newly adopted corns

Ok I posted pics in the photo forum of the corns we adopted. They are both around 2 years old. I was told they are a pair, but I can't be sure. They were housed together in a 2o gallon with no heat no hides and that fiber type bedding. The previous owner said the female has never laid eggs but he has seen them mating in the past few weeks. I have them separated now and I am not sure if she is gravid or not. Is there a way to tell? She is eating well and is very active. Her stool sample was negative
The male has not eaten since we got him (3 weeks) and the previous owner said he had not eaten in 2 weeks before this. So 5 weeks off feed. He is also pretty active. I have not been able to get stool from him as he hasn't pooped either since we had him. He is urinating/urateing regularly and isn't wated looking. Could he be off feed due to the mating? Any suggestions for these snakes?

Corns of that age are a little young to be making babies(kinda like teenagers) So just watch her carefully....The male is probably on hunger strike for mating season. Alot of males do this. My suggestion is to get Kathy Love's book it has a lot of great info on mating and for your potiential eggs.

Thank you. I really don't want to breed them, but if she is already gravid I will do what needs to be dome for the health of the snakes and the eggs. Oh and I wanted to correct myself. My husband just informed me that the previous owner had them 2 years himself, but they were not hatchlings when he got them. so they may be older. They are both around 4 feet long, I don't have a scale but they are bigger snakes than my ither corn who is 2 years old. Ahh confusion

If they are 4 ft then they are not 2 yrs old..lol ... They are more than likely old enough to have babies.. Just read up on breeding. It really isn't hard. A nice nest box and a lot of patients. and little ones will be on the way. I would, since you were not expecting, (start now) trying to see where you might be able to place babies. Classroom, local herp club, pet shop, breeder ect.... Let them know that eggs are on the way( no promises). This way in case something goes wrong you have an out. Hopefully everything goes smooth... Good luck
