Ok, so I just got my lovely new thermostat in the mail, strapped it to the bottom of my tank right over my UTH and warmed 'er up. I also have a thermometer with a probe placed right next to the thermostat.
The problem is, there's like a 2 degree difference between what my thermostat reads and what my thermometer reads.
More details: I have a Herpstat ND proportional thermostat and a Zilla thermometer/hygrometer. The thermostat's reading 85 f and the thermometer reads 83.
Is this bad? I feel like it's excessive to get a third gauge to see which one's reading accurately, and I'm more inclined to go with my fancy schamce thermostat. Should I not even worry about this? Is 2 degrees a big deal?
