Hooray new snake! Feeding question too!

Ok, so I just got home with my brand new corn! He's a reverse okeetee and he's a little under a month old. He last ate on Monday.

Now I know the protocol is to wait 5 - 7 days before handling and feeding, but he's such a little guy, I wanted to know if I should shorten that and feed him on Monday. He was eating live pinks, but I'm switching him to f/t as well.

Thoughts, comments? Thanks guys!

Give the guy a week to settle in. Even though he appears calm, he will still be stressed from the move. Your most important thing for now is to settle him in and then get a successful meal into him, let him digest two or three days, and then handle. It shouldn't be a problem to switch to FT. I'd pick a pretty small pink and heat it to as hot as your tap water will get, put the pink in your snake's deli cup he came in, put the snake in, and either he'll grab it right away, or he'll pace around trying to find a way out. If he does that, cover him up with a dish towel and check in 30-60 minutes.

If you absolutely can't make it a week, then maybe Thursday night, IF he appears to have settled in and is out once in a while expolring- that's how you'll know he's comfortable. Lots of people feed right away, and often get away with it, but if this is your first snake you are safer following the waiting period and giving him the best chance possible for a successful first feeding. he will not starve during that time. I know it's hard!! I go through the same thing every time!
