Help with rack heating questions?

Hey guys!
I'm thinking of getting this rack: http://www.apcages.com/Sterilite/EP.html
and have some questions about heating. it says it comes with heating. That means it has heating cables, on the back of each shelf and then I'm assuming at the bottom there is a plug for all of the cables? My question is this, what product would you recommend for maintaining the the inside temp at say around 80 degrees? I'm assuming I would need some sort of thermostat that that plugs into the outlet, and also has a probe attached that goes into the hot side of one of the tubs? I clicked on the link on the AP website of a company that has thermostats, but the cheapest one is around $100? I was hoping not to spend that much!

If you could explain to me how exactly the heating of these racks works, I would greatly appreciate it, and would also love links to other thermostats that you recommend, and how exactly they work? Sorry for my noobness and thanks in advance for your time answering! I really appreciate it!

First I would call and ask them to substitute the sterilities with Iris tubs I think you will be much happier. These can be found by looking at the larger Iris racks they have for sale. It should be the men’s show box and the boot box. Also ask for flex watt instead if heat cable, once again you will be much happier. In the economy line racks there are no solid backs to the shelves just narrow beams to prevent you from sliding the tub back to far. The heat is on the bottom of each shelf.

As for a thermostat go to http://www.reptilebasics.com/Thermostats-p-1-c-250.html and you can get an unwired Ranco for $59 or prewired for $79 depending on your skill at following wiring directions.
