Crazy Critter Lady
I'm wondering if I am not feeding my Amel right. When I got her in March she weighed 12 g. In June she weighed 42 g. Now she weighs 45 g.
I can not figure out what size food to give her. If I give her a fuzzy I see the lump for maybe 15 hours. If I give a hopper I see it for 24 hours. I have not tried weanling.
My biggest worry is how much she is roving her cage. She is always out looking around the next morning after being fed. Should I try weanlings? She is about 23 inches long.
Another thing is my Anery male I got in July is not very old. Was 7 g when I got him now is 6 g. I feed a mouse pink or an Asf pink (cut in half feed both halves) every 5 days. He is also all over his cage the next day.
I thought they were supposed to hide for a day or two? I'm worried and my snake vet is on vaca for 2 weeks starting a couple days ago. Am I not feeding right? Or am I just over protective?
Maybe I need to add something to my feeders diet? They get lab blocks with a small amount of home mixed treat mix. The treat mix only gets replaced when all the blocks have been eaten and need refilled. I think the blocks are 12% protien. I am looking into pig pellets I heard about at a local feed shop.
