How long can you leave a f/t mouse out for a snake that you are trying to find?

Corn snakes rule!
I was wondering what is a safe amount of time to put out a f/t mouse for a snake you are trying to catch/find that is loose in the house? Can you leave it out for the whole night/and next day or just over night and then use a new mouse for the next day or night?

One night should be the max, assuming that should the snake find the bait you don't want it regurgitating something rotten. :)

Thanks, I was just making sure. I left one out for her the first night that I notices she was gone but it didn't work. Hopefully, tonight it will.
