I have been in mississippi since march and haven't seen one snake...my girlfriend who doesn't even like snakes went to florida for the weekend saw two within fifteen minutes of each other!!! Just my luck. At least she took pics.

Nice cottonmouths! (At least the last two are...)

The last two are for sure Agkistrodon piscivorus conanti, the Florida cottonmouth. Can't see the first one well enough for a positive ID; unless it's the same as one of the other two, it might be a Florida banded watersnake, Natrix fasciata. The positive differentiator between a cottonmouth and a Natrix is the pupil of the eye. Natrix have round pupils, like our corn snakes, and the cottonmouths have a slit pupil like a cat.

Around these parts, cottonmouths are nasty, aggressive snakes. Their bite usually isn't too venomous, but you're almost guaranteed to get a multi-vector infection from it - their mouths are like mobile sewers.

Nonetheless, I've always thought they were pretty snakes, with their subtle patterning. Here's wishing you better luck on your hunts, though - don't wanna get punked!
 
The first two pictures are of the same snake. The third pic was the second snake a little farther down the path.
