Last of My 2009 Eggs Has Hatched!

Susan

Go Ahead, Make My Day!
The last clutch of the season was from my anery het lava bloodred (Duchess) X bloodred het anery (Achilles II). All of the eggs but one went bad very early on and I figured the last one might go as well. But every time I checked, it continued to look perfectly fine and, if the incubation time was similar to all the other clutches this year, it was due to hatch over the Daytona Expo week-end...and I was right!

I didn't get a chance to look yesterday after arriving home, with having to get all the new purchases set up and the kids stuff ready to start school this morning, but I did check the container after the buses picked up my "little ones" and found the egg not only slit, but completely empty.

Of course, I was expecting to find a normal, or at best an anery, at the bottom of the moss, but as soon as I started moving the moss around, this lovely lady came right to the top to check ME out! She's a good size and seems perfect in every way! And yes, I had long ago planned on keeping whatever hatched out of the solitary egg just because it was the only survivor of a special pairing.
