Well Taiwans can get about 9 foot
VBBs can get about 11
and king rats can get 10 foot. I have seen a ten footer. And King rats have been seen eating O. Hannah

I have a tai beauty too. He gorgeous but has lately been getting more enthusiastic about his food, and will get that look on his face...if you know what i mean.

He'll strike at the glass if i flutter my hand in front of it, and even go for me if I'm not careful, but its only a food response. Got caught on my knuckle the other day.

He's over 8ft.

here he is with former girlfriend, she's dead now:

Nice Taiwan!!! I had one a couple years ago... my favorite snake. I was devastated when he died in an A/C accident. :(

BUT, to replace that hole in my heart, I bought a VBB and named her Kokoro (heart). Her parents were at the store I bought her from. Dad was 9 feet long and mom was an amazing 13 feet long. She's grown FAST. June of last year, she was 18 - 20 inches long. NOW, she's a gorgeous 5 + foot long. Here's a pic from this last spring...

Hope you don't mind me posting pics of her here (any opportunity to show her off)... If you do, I'll gladly remove them.

Seeing your Taiwan makes me want another! IF I did get one, I've already got the name for it - Tamashii (Soul). That way I'd have a "heart" and "soul". LOL.

Ahh...Robbie is begging me for my blue one...Viet. Blue :)
I'd love to see pics of your VBB!

13 foot are you sure? They max out at 11 feet
Well, I didn't drag her out to measure her, but I did speak with the previous owner (he sold her to the store - BEFORE he found out she was pregnant - LOL. Mom was W/C - Kokoro was C/H). I've purchased several snakes from him before and he has given me no reason to doubt his word. I'm only telling you what he told me.

I've seen the 11 foot rule too... but there are always exceptions. I guess we'll find out if she's got mom's genes soon enough. :)

The VBB's are known for their... attitude. However, with regular handling, you can tame them down rather easily.

Fred, did I mention that I have several Taiwan Beauties for sale?
LOL. Thanks for the temptation, Wade... but it is much easier to hide ANOTHER corn from SWMBO than it is to hide another, very unique looking, MONSTER of a snake. LOL. Not that I'd ever do such a thing... again. :sidestep:

As far as temperments go... IF you're gonna get one, get one small and spend LOTS of time with it. Otherwise you'll end up with a REALLY aggressive one that can't be appreciated as much.

Kokoro and Mushu (my previous Taiwan Beauty) had TERRIFIC feeding responses and were quite aggressive if they thought you were gonna feed them. BUT when they knew you weren't feeding them (like pulling them out of their cages with gloves or a hook) they were pretty decent. Not something to be taken lightly (like most corns), but usually pretty mild mannered. Last time I took Kokoro out, I picked her up with "gloves" and then when she was out, I took the gloves off. She was fine in my hands, but something spooked her (probably one of my kids) and she threatened my hand, but didn't bite. I NEVER allow her head to be close to mine... I'd hate to get bitten in the face by her and I always watch out for that. I've never been bitten by her, but am always on guard.

Sorry for the book on your thread, Snakemaster... but they did ask and it was about VBB's and Taiwan Beauties. :)
