Another Daytona Pick Up....

CaptBogart

False Prophet
I finally got pics of the last Daytona pick up as I wanted it to get good and settled in. There were lots of others grabbing up the same kind, but that's ok, I think it'll retain it's value as a producer in the future!

Oh, and let me tell you, these guys are biters! I must have gotten tagged about 20 times so far with no sign that it'll ever settle down. I'm afraid to probe it for fear I may lose a finger! It even got the cats! Imagine their surprise, since they are the ones usually doing the hunting in the snake room.... I'm sure at least one, (maybe all three), of the dogs are next... maybe even Katie and my brother Jeff if they aren't careful!

I have a Huge enclosure so I'm going to cohab it with a larger one even though it's a different species. I don't think either of them are known to be cannibalistic, just have to watch that they don't fight over the same basking spot. They have a full spectrum bulb so they get plenty of light, and a waterfall to give it that great outdoors feel, and I just love the sound of running water.... it's pretty relaxing....

Thanks Davesfiles, I love it! Even though it's the meanest thing in my snake room :D

Yours is sooo pretty! Mine has a couple of bad spots from being in a car for so long. But I think it'll pull through just fine! I still need to transplant it but I don't have a large enough planter at the moment. And yes they are biters! Like I said before,at least my cats don't mess with this plant(which is why never kept plants before).

The cats consider it more as a challenge to see how many times they can chew before getting snagged, or nailed with the super soaker.... Um, I mean get in the way while watering ;)

Wow, its very intimidating. Do you need gloves to handle it? :)

Yes, but Robbie needed them back, so I just have to be brave while caring for it....

Oh, I should add, once a leaf starts to turn, it won't be coming back. Just clip it at an angle close to the base and remove it. This creates less of a drain on the plant and it can focus on new growth...

Thanks for telling me that! I have some pruning to do! That many days in a car did absolutely nothing for my biter!
