Around Here Somewhere....
Last again...lol!
I was so tired when I got home yesterday that I actually took a nap and then had no motivation to edit photos when I got back up.

Had a great time as always with Robbie, Tony and Nanci. Hot and humid of course, but still a good time. Cute little zoo with nice enclosures for the animals. Would've liked to stay for their reptile show, but we were all hot, hungry and thirsty so decided to head out to eat instead.

Photos aren't the best - most of the animals outside have those wire cages that are hard to shoot through, and the herps inside - I had to use my little point and shoot and wasn't as successful as I would've been if the flash on my other camera worked...

Going to take me a couple posts to get these all up...

And that's all I've got!!

OOOOOhhhhh... DIFFERENT subjects this time. One of my dreams was to get Aldabara tortoises here where we work... I think the kids would love them (as would the guests), but I'm not sure that we could make it work...

Also, thanks for another pic of my favorite green snake! LOL.

I remember when....

that zoo was an elephant, a lion, a racoon, and a bunch of monkees.

Good to see it has really grown.

(So this is why I barely post anything, because Katie's pictures are always so amazing!!!)

Oooh, an Amur Leopard....they're so rare. There are less than 100 (estimated) left in the wild. I hope that zoo has some sort of captive breeding program going.

Spider monkey, but don't know which species of spider monkey without looking it up. ;) Great pics. Looks like you guys had a fun day!

More fabulous photos Katie! Love the shot of the Mountain Lion (also my favorite big cat ;) ) and you did a great job with the outdoor looking at the lighting conditions you were working with! Keep 'em coming and you're making me want to get the camera back out lol

They had two in the enclosure. Not sure if they have a breeding program for the leopards, but they did have a section closed off where they are breeding their clouded leopards - so they must have at least three of those since one was on display. Or I guess it could just be a pregnant female they are keeping out of sight so as not to stress her.
They also had a serval and a black footed cat (which I have never seen one in a zoo before).

Excellent pics! I love the diversity of your photographs. My fav has to be of the sleeping mountain lion with a little bit of his tongue sticking out LOL
