Mr. Redd- My new Foster

Well, Redd isn't A pittie..and isn't from the rescue I foster from. He was a stray in GA. My Aunt picked him up on the side of the road.. Kept him for over a month.. in the 10x6 Kennel outside *As they have Cats and didn't trust him with the cats* But did well with there 2 Small dogs :)

Well, they got him healthy and posted a ad in the Paper to find him a home. And 2 Elderly couples came to meet him.. And both went horrible. He growled and snapped at them both. So, they had me come up and get him to work with him and find him a home down here. I spent a week up there with him.. and I Saw this amazing Dog. And I didn't want to give up on him.

Redd is about 2 yrs old. He is a Austrailian Cattle Dog mix of some sort. He is about 42 lbs. He is Completley housetrained.. Calm in the house.. Crate trained.. Doesn't chew ANYTHING. Follows me around like a lost puppy dog. He loves me. I have been working with him meeting people since he has been here. *About a week and a half* And he is improving SO Much! Met a friend of mine for the first time last night and Didn't growl, snap, or back away from her. Within less then 2 min of her giving him Hot Dogs.. he allowed her to pet and love on him with No issue.

I think his past wasn't all that great.. But at one point in his life HAD to have been in a house with the way he acts. And he was already neutered when they found him. But, I am not sure what happened to land him on the streets. They live in a VERY Rural area.. and I am sure someone dumped him. So, I think he is VERY insecure, and has some Trust issues to people. But, Not nearly as bad as it could be. I see so much potential for him.

But, I thought I would post about him here.. In case there is someone out there interested..and willing to give it time.. and just come meet him. You never know. I am in NO Hurry to find him a home. I want to work with him more. But, I want people to know about him.

But anyhow.. here he is. I will update this thread as I can. :)

Fantastic news, and good for you for helping this dog. He looks like a good boy to me so I am not surprised he did well with you & found a furever home.

thanks guys! :) Yes, he had some serious stuff going on. And I saw something special about him..and didn't want to give up on him. But, because of the work I did..and helping him.. he found a awesome new home where he will be loved for the rest of his life! It makes fostering so worth it!

That is great news! We have 3 ACD crosses (two Boxer/ACD pups and our old man, ACD/GSP mix) and they make for really fun companions.
