BABY Crestie is HERE!!!! Pics of cuteness!

Today we attended the MARS reptile show and asked a few crestie breeders about the egg and about the fact that it was leaking clear goo...their replies did not sound good. Don at Sweet Arrow Reptiles was nice enough to suggest clipping the eggs open as he has had to do in the past with his cresties. Sadly that first egg held a dead baby, but it looked like it was pretty small and there was a LOT of yolk. We are guessing it died about a week ago based on the look of....

ARROW! The first production of Mason Dixon Reptiles!!! After clipping Very very gently (scared to fritters) the egg at one end...he/she flipped over and popped out like a rocket! Here are some pics of the little one. Very active and looking great so far. We are SOOOOO happy SOOOOOOOOO happy!
(Also included is a pic of the little dead baby who looked just like dad. The surviving baby is so red compaired to the proud parents.)

Ooooooooooooooooooh cograts! What a beautiful little cutiepie!
(And of course, condolences for the baby that didn't make it)

He's so red!!! And wet and gooey!!! I can't wait to see him when he's all dried off! What a cutie!!

Sooooo... when can I expect the little cutie to be on it's way to me? Just so I know to be home to pick up the package. :D

Congrats and condolences.

Very cute love the baby reds though they tend to disappear with a few sheds, but you never know. Congrats hope you have many more just as cute:)

What a sweetie, is there something wrong with the tail, though? It looks discolored.

Just 2 eggs? Is that the normal clutch size? The only lizards I have ever kept was a beardie and a chinese water dragon . . . both a LONG time ago.

Congrats! (and sorry about the other baby :()

Yeah it's kinda fun to see what color it will grow into. No matter what color she/he is...I am tickled pink myself.

Nothing wrong with the tail. THey are a different color most of the time.

2 eggs are the normal clutch for geckos.

CUTE!!! I certainly hope this one does well for you both! I remember the older ones escaping... so this one is a real miracle! :)

Yes, they went marauding back in July. Fortunately we caught both with no issues within 48 hours. I was majorly relieved! We have one other egg incubating right now, but it is small and was being carried when she escaped. It may not be viable, but it is still growing and looks okay...

We have mom and dad seperate and will keep them seperate for the next couple months so mom can rest. We may get some more fertile eggs from her because they can store sperm.

Now that is too dang cute!!!! Congrats on the new baby and I'm sorry to hear about the DIE baby. Can't wait to see progression pics of your new baby.
