Reason of my absence [Parkour]

Toshiro

scoffindustries.be
Some of you might have noticed that I'm far less online
comparing to some time ago.
This is mostly due to my "new" sport.
I've been training Parkour for the last 6months.
(for those who do not know parkour: Wiki)
I take my training very seriously
and that absorbs lots of my time.

But I love it!
It really developes your body and skills.

For those interested, I recently made a little video:
Toshiro ~ Parkour Vol. 1

Some feedback's always nice :p

your link did not work.... but i found your video:D
looking really good after 6 month of training :) respect!!

Excellent! I used to do something similar with friends in my late teens when I was away at uni in Plymouth, then my 3 boys were scaring the pants off me doing it a couple of years ago! (They'd seen footage of free running, and as I'd done it myself I couldn't really object, just advise to stay safe) great fun, I'm not agile enough to do it now but I'll follow your videos with interest!

Ok Dude!

Your Badazz!
I have a challenge for you!
Through the middle of the video you came to some stairs that led to a pole, that you swung around. Ok...Here is the challenge go back to that pole and just using your hands support yourself horizantally to the pole using the strength of your arms,it can be done if I can get a scanner of a picture of my grandfather and his brothers doing it

Ah yes, human flag.
Maybe I'll train this, but I'm not sure.
Cos this is more a freerunning thing,
not parkour :)

That Guy

Looks to have jumped to that pole the picture I have is with my grandfather and his two brothers all on the same pole all at the same time there bodys were perfectly horizantal, holding themselfs that way.But I plan to get into that stuff again and train my son we are both built for that kinda stuff and the shape you get in is amazing, its almost as you hold powers that most will never realize

Very kewl stuff, Tosh! Except for the height, what you're doing reminds me of the vid game "Mirror's Edge". Kudos to you for your growing skill and commitment.

I know it's been a long time, but I'm sure every now and then, EVERYONE thinks of Steve... :)

Very cool! My little brother has been Parkour training for about 3 months now. I'm not sure how good he is but he's in great shape because of it. His goal is to open a Parkour training "facility" with walls and obstacles all over the place.

Well... that was certainly illuminating. I had no idea this type of sport existed...
One thing's for sure, your balance is way better than mine.
Keep at it :)

Oren.

That is so cool, Toshiro! I've heard of Parkour (only because of the Office) but I hadn't seen any real videos of it until now. That's so neat!

That is amazing! You reminded me of a tree frog when you were hanging of the wall lol. I would have been able to do that when I was younger, I used to jump around and climb everywhere and everything and I had very good balance. I would never be able to do it now though. After I was sick for a few years I loss a lot of my muscle and my balance stinks now, the muscles in my back a shoulders are really bad hence why I'm in physical therapy now. If I'm every able to get in shape again that is what I would LOVE to do.

That is really cool! I immediately thought it's like being a kid, before you acquire the fear of breaking bones! Then I read this on Wikipedia:

"You just have to look, you just have to think, like children." This, as he describes, is "the vision of parkour." Sébastien Foucan in Jump London

You sick monkey! :grin01:

Just kidding. VERY impressive. When you're elderly, like me, Parkour will constitute getting out of your car after an hour trip without 50% paralysis. I hate youngsters! ;)
