Handling Question

How often should you handle a young corn snake. As i've said many times with my many questions I just got my first snake this past weekend and am unsure how often is ok to handle him/her.....how can I determine the sex...i'm getting sick of saying him/her lol. thanks

from what iv been told and what iv learned you shouldn't handle baby corns that often, id say go for maybe a few mins when u can gradually getting more until she/he is calm with u handling her. i was also told that if your corn has been shipped to u that u should refrain from handling him/her for at least 2 weeks after the long journey (i think its for stress reasons) :)

and the sexing i'm not sure about this but i do know that u can hurt your snake doing it while not knowing what exactly your doing so i reckon u find someone who actually knows what there doing and u don't try it yourself ...
hope this all helps a lil good luck :)

The general rule for when you get a new corn, is LEAVE IT ALONE for the first week MINIMUM! You need to give your new baby some alone time to adjust to its new home. This also includes feeding, so try not to handle your new baby or feed it for a whole week. After that week has passed, you may begin to feed once every 5 days (not sure how big it is, but assuming it's a hatchling). Remember to leave your corn alone for 48 hours after handling to reduce the risk of regurge (throwing up the food). After 48 hours you may handle it for a little while and each time increase the time and before you know it, you will have a snake that has no problems handling :)

well, unless you know what your doing sexing is not a good idea. if your super curious, perhaps theres a breeder or vet near you that you could contact, they'd be able to help you out i'm sure. Probably dont want to try yourself.
I just picked a gender for the sake of naming my snake, Yoshi. Or maybe just pick a name that could be either one, :p

They say you shouldn't handle your snake for a few days until its first feeding. We didn't know that, so we played with him everyday, but we didn't run into any problems. It all depends on the snake.
