Moss or humidifier?

Greetings,

Our Okeetee shed yesterday, and just like our other hatchling the tiniest tip of her tail did slough off. I live in Alaska which during winter months the air is extremely dry. I'm debating whether or not I should purchase a humidifier for the snake room or just place a small hide with some damp moss inside the cages.

If I place a moist hide inside their cages, should I leave it there all the time or only place it there when they're about to shed?

i personally find that putting a second water bowl over the heatmat raises humidty quite well through evapouration.
might just be enough to improve a troublesome shed.
 
sometimes to increase the humidity (mainly near sheds) i move the bowl under the light for 1 day for reasons blito expained :D
 
To be honest Jason, either solution should work.

The humidifier would benefit you too. The moist hide can either be left in there all the time, or placed in during shedding times. I don't think you will make a bad decision.

I have a reptile fogger that raises the humidity. It can raiise the humidity fast. and if you have a water dish over the heated side bacteria will grow fast because of the warm water.
