AP at it again!

Just stop watching David.... Go for HGTV...shop for someone else's house and picture how you would use the extra rooms for snakes.

i really enjoy the national geographic channel. everyone might not have it, but it comes with our cable. its such an awesome channel. and other than that all we watch here is planet earth dvds, blue planet, and life in cold blood dvds. im stoked for bbcs/discoverys new show "life", that is coming out. its going to be awesome i hope.

I used to watch animal planet, I remember the great shows they had back in the day when they first started. One of my professors in college was the host of one of the early shows. And of course I loved croc hunter. Now it seems all they show is animal cops and anti reptile stuff. I haven't watched it very much in a long time.

Is AP the new enemy? I mean, I really don't see why it should be seen as anti-herp keepers, or as a channel filled with propaganda (at least not more so than any other TV channel).

Just go to any channel on TV. I'm willing to bet that 99.9% of all channels marginalize one group or another, so the fact that AP has programs that sometimes do so is no different. I don't mean to take away the discussion here, but we are powerless over the images portrayed on TV, and really would be wasting our time to be upset about it. If you would like to portray a group of people in a better light, then take it upon yourself to share programs and information to conflict with whatever it is that you don't approve of.

I personally enjoy watching Animal Planet. I rarely feel upset while watching it, and if I do, I simply change the channel. I would much rather have one channel about animals, regardless of whether it sometimes stray from animals, than the millions of news broadcasts that constantly pollute our minds with one-sided opinions. Television doesn't make our reality, we do, and the only way to create a better word about our interests is to reach out to other people, not to take issues with TV programs.

I can't stand TV. With all the great things to spend money on, I just can't get to paying that bill.

"you must spread reputation...yada, yada, yada"

Another excellent post Michael. I to enjoy AP, If theres something I don't think I'll care for I change the channel. Theres enough going on in real life, for me to let a show or a channel get me all upset.
