What's your favorite breed of dog?

If you could have your 'dream dog' what breed would it be? Or you might already have it! :D Either way lets post lots of pics and make a super duper doggy thread!

Mine would be a wolf hybrid, like a wolf-dog or a wolamute. I love the different colors they come in too. I can't choose what one I like best, I keep bouncing back and forth.

I've actually got mine, I'm planning on getting another next year and the only thing better would be to be in the position to have more!
Here's Rosie, my little pocket lurcher. She's a Bedlington terrier x whippet.

I don't know if I have just one favorite dog breed.
I am partial to large dogs - like Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds, Belgian Tervuren (sp?) and Malinois.
I also love a good looking Boxer or Weimaraner or Greyhound too.
The only small dog I really like is a Welsh Corgi.

Raynefyre - here is my wolfdog Sierra. She is 11 this year:

She has one floppy ear now due to a hematoma last year - so I especially love that last pic of her.

Pharaoh Hound, hands down. I've had them for the past 32 years (!), as well as other sighthound types (Borzoi, Afghan, Greyhound) and some others (German Shorthaired Pointer, Poodle mix, Pit Bull), but the Pharaohs are my favorite! Here's a picture of my current dog, Dakarai. He lost a leg due to someone opening my gate when he was younger - he got hit by a car. I'm lucky to still have him.

I would have to go with my Beagle/GSP mix "Cash" (named after Johnny Cash). He has the perfect disposition and energy level for me. He's super smart too! Here he is, at about 5 weeks old, with a few of his litter mates (Cash has the white muzzle)...

Greyhound. Hands down. They're so beautiful and elegant looking. As soon as I finish my PhD in a year I'm planning on adopting one from the local greyhound rescue.

But I agree with Rich, mutts are also tops. The only way I'd ever get a purebred (such as a greyhound) was by adopting it.

I prefer hot dogs
they are OH so delicous
my favorites are the ones dressed in relish, onions and even tomatoes (not pictured)

who can pass up how cute that looks?
a close second would be bratwurst filled with CHEESE

Adopted dogs are my favorite for sure!!

But for breeds, I am a huge Chow lover! They are not aggressive, mean, or unintelligent dogs by any means....Chows are just such a dignified, loyal, and amazing breed. A well-socialized Chow should get along with everyone, including kids, other pets and strangers.

I'm also big into greyhound adoption. Greys are unlike a lot of dog breeds- they almost seem human sometimes! I love all sighthounds, but greys will always be top. They make really wonderful pets with a low indoor activity level.

Mine would be the English Shepherd. Appearance is similar to a border collie on steroids, with less neuroticism, and a desire to hunt and guard as well as herd.

Your Pharoah Hound is beautiful Lesley! I have only ever seen them on TV unfortunately. But I do also really like the sighthounds - specifically the Borzoi. There is just something regal about them.

I don't have one favorite. In no particular order:
larger mutts (don't like small dogs!)
arctic breeds including Samoyed, Malamute & Huskie
pibbles
Dobes
Rotties
Labs & Goldens
I would love to own a wolfamute or wolfoyed someday, don't know if I ever well. I have met some wonderful wolf hybrids and think that they are great dogs, but not for everyone.

BEAGLES! I plan on owning at least 10 in the near future haha. I don't know how Charles would like that!

The BEST thing about them is their smelvet ears AND lips! Charlie plays with a beagle called Harry who lives in the village. I like to stroke his lips... they are so soft and fluffy. And his ears are mahoosive. And his paws are giant. And his howl is perfect! THATS my ideal dog. If only they were not so darn stubborn!

Aside from beagles, I am really a hound fan. Bloodhounds, fox hounds, pharaoh hounds, bassets, coonhounds and otter hounds.

How I ended up with this, I will never know! He is a shi tzu x cavalier king charles spaniel x border terrier.
