BCC or BCI? (Red tail boas)

So I remember browsing for information about red tail boas, and apparently there's two types, or something along those lines. I know both look very similar but have some distinguishing features. I think one gets to be around 10-12ft, and the other 6-8ft, if I remember correctly.

So because I'm interested in getting one of these big boas but don't want the huge one, could someone explain to me the difference? Pictures would be very helpful, because I tried looking on Redtailboa.net and couldn't make heads or tails of what they were saying.

I'm away to work at the moment, but when I get back I can post a detailed thread with pictures and taxonomy information on the different types of boas, including locales, BCC's and BCA's. There's a magnitude of boas out there lol!

:laugh: I'd like that. I'm interested in the pet shop ones called 'red tail boa' that generally look like such:


I've seen some that are skinny like that, and some that are ball-python thick.

BCI are the more common and smaller group of Boas... to the untrained eye they can all look almost the same... but there are slight differences in color and pattern(and of course, size).
You may want to consider locality BCI such as Hog Isle or Corn Isle boas.
