This was a Horrible Weekend!

I am sorry ahead of time, I just need to vent.

To start things off I find out that my little sister has decided to get married exactly 7 days before my wedding... I call my parents to try to figure out what is going on, and my mother has the nerve to tell me that if I am expected to show up and if I don't then it means that I am being selfish....

My thoughts are not only that I was engaged almost 4 moths before my sister, but that they all knew what my wedding day was 3 months before my sis even got engaged.

Not only that, but Saturday I get a text from my roommate, and from the time I left for breakfast, to the time I went to lunch, my Reeves turtle kicked the bucket. There were no indicators that I could see, Sandy was all fine and dandy swimming around and eating pellets before I left my house. Then *poof* dead.... All three of my other turtles are doing great though, Chex, my box turtle, is running around eating earthworms and a few greens like always, and the two Mississippi Maps (un-named) are doing what they do, trying to hunt down fish together.

So, yeah, that was basically my weekend.

Again, I am sorry, I just needed to vent a little.

And WTH with the sister? Unless that specific date has some special meaning to her that seems extremely thoughtless. I love my sis dearly, but if she had been getting married a week before me I would have been toooooooooo busy to make more than a cursory appearance.

I hope thinks pick up for you soon.

Yeah, well, appearantly his Infintry unit has to take leave all together, and that is what they chose... My father told her to wait until August when they are going to do their honey moon, but she is the one person that I know that would pull that crap.

We told her that we were going to have our wedding show during that time and she said we should push it back until 2 days before our wedding... WTH, My wedding is not going to revolve around her... I am getting to the point where I don't even want her to show up. My mother too for that matter...

My advice is to stick to your guns and NOT rearrange things around her. When I was planning my wedding I had all sorts of people with opinions on where/when/who/whatever and I had to take a step back and realize that the only people who got a say in it were me and the hubby.

Unfortunately I am from a very Matriarchal family, the women tend to dictate what the men do. Well, that was until my father joined the mix. I inherited his thick headedness, I called and spoke to my father today about the whole situation and he understands where I am... My mother thinks that she is tossed in the middle of a sibling rivalry. When I am the one tossed in the pick family or fiance.... Needless to say, I wish I could make it to the wedding and if they want to fork out the money for a plane ticket I will go, see it, and fly back the next day. But I doubt they would want to buy a ticket for me. So I will have to choose my future wife. I am not going to have to live with my sister for the rest of my life... That is someone else's job... lol

Aaron, your fiancee is more important than a sis who is trying to get all the family attention. She did this on purpose, and you probably know that.

And I am really sorry about the turtle!

You have uncommonly good sense and perspective. I think it must be hard though, to get tossed a grenade like this so early.

With a little luck and a lot of work this girl is going to be your wife for the rest of your life. Then she will be family. Don't get sucked into playing chose me or them games. You will be the looser no matter which way you choose. Your sister is the one being selfish.

Yeah, thanks guys. I know who the one I will be sleeping beside every night is. She will be my wife forever, God willing.

I know my little sis is doing all of this to get attention, I pray that her marriage works out.

Oh, and to add to this wonderful week, I just got a letter in the mail saying that I owe the military $277.33.... I got out December 11th of last year, It is now May 5th.... What kind of BS is that?

Forgot to add.... They are also charging interest....
Needless to say, next monday since I won't be working, I will be on base trying to figure out what the heck is going on, and whether or not this is a scam...

hehe don't you just love the military? My husband is Coast Guard, and when we moved cross country to Washington state several years ago, someone didn't put in our travel claim stuff correctly. 6 or 8 months after starting work at the station my husband came home and said they were docking his paycheck $200/month to repay our travel money due to the paperwork issue. I was like, um, obviously we CAME here, what the heck? Took months to get it sorted out. Good luck with everything!

Yup sounds like a bad weekend for sure! But consider one thing and it might help you relax, it is not the wedding that is important, but the marriage......

Besides, it also might make you feel better that my upcoming weekend will be MUCH WORSE than yours! (and this last month has been pretty much Hell on Earth around here too....)

I am tempted to just elope and not worry about having a wedding...LOL...
It would be cheaper...
but she really wants a wedding, so we will have one...
I am going on monday to figure out what is going on with the whole owing the DOD money, issue...

Another freaking great weekend....

Just got a call from my little sister today... She was in tears in the message that she left me... I thought that her fiance who just went back of Afghanistan got hurt... Luckily that is not the case.. What was the cast was my sister in law, told my mother last night that she is going to abort my brothers baby while he is out to sea... What kind of person does that?

I am afraid for Justin, because when he gets back and finds out what happens... He is going to snap. I do not want him to end up in prison, but I have a feeling that, that is exactly where he will go. Because he will not be able to hold himself back from killing her.

I am praying that she gets her head on straight and does not have the abortion, but who knows.. She has basically shunned everyone in our family. And I am pretty sure her mother is talking her into the abortion...

I do not know what everyone else's stand on Abortion is, but I think you could all agree that having one while the father, who wants the child, is out to sea, without him knowing, Is a crappy move...

Talk about a wonderful mothers day gift for my mom... This baby is her first grandchild...
