Leo eggs! These things are huge!

What addiction?!
So let me give a quick story. I was working on a trade with a lady and she offered me 2 leos as part of the deal. This girl was offered but I was warned that she was very skinny due to her laying infertile eggs since she was about 7 months old. They arrived here in March and the female weighed about 23 grams, thin tail and you could see her ribs. After a few weeks she was more active, eating well and gained weight. But I knew at some point she would lay infertile eggs again and lose it.

So my thinking was, if she's going to lay eggs any way, why not breed her and have good eggs. Maybe laying the infertile eggs takes too much out of her? Depleting her system of nutrients and calcium. So I bred her. She was 37 grams before she laid the eggs and 28 after. But these are some big eggs so it's expected she'd lose a lot. She still looks good though. Tail is fat and she has "meat" left on her ribs. After laying she went straight to the water and food bowls. So let's hope this is what it took to get her on the road to healthy. :)

Im not sure how it is with Leos but I know when I had my female bearded dragon and she was gravid with infertile eggs we would have to up her calcium supplements, poor girl was an egg laying machine last year at 64 eggs spread out over three clutches.
It sounds like the leo does want to eat and everything though so I would keep offering food, water and make sure to dust it with vitamins.
And those eggs are HUGE, i have never seen leo eggs before, its hard to imagine something that large coming out of something so small.

those are some huge eggs for the size of the lizards! how could she lay those and NOT lose a ton of weight?
