hope is not a strategy
I know a few members who use Webs.com to host their sites and I'm hoping they can help me with an issue I'm having...

I'm trying to change my "primary web address" from the .webs.com to my .com, but it doesn't appear to be saving my changes. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I can't get their support staff to respond to my emails and the forum is pretty much worthless.

Thanks for any info you may have!

Just to make sure I've got this right, you already own a domain name? I'm not sure how much help I can be, I don't own one & haven't changed mine.

They are a real pain with this sort of thing. I have tried several times to purchase a domain name through them, but it keeps getting kicked back. For, I don't know what damn reason!

I then thought about buying a domain name with another registry and transferring it. In there TOS, it says that the process can take from 30-90 days to complete and recommend you leave a redirect until it finishes. Also, if you haven't owned the domain name for a minimum of 90 days, they won't even let you do it.

All of this is why I leave the damn .webs in my address. That and until I can find another web hoster that doesn't cost a small fortune and require a thorough knowledge in HTML and CSS to build. I know a little, a very little.

Hope that helps!

Wayne

It is quite a pain! I got my domain from GoDaddy and transferred it over. I've waited the 90 days and done everything they asked for. I thought I had everything figured out, but now I'm getting this...
