Those are one of my favourites.

I had one once for about 3 years. It only shed 4 times in those three years and that was with fairly regular eating. I bet that guy's a great great grandparent.

Cool shots.

He was not a very big side winder IMHO, definantly had the buttons to show though... It makes me mad when people go after them with their shovels, vehicles and what ever else.. Did I mention I am tired of people and think nature is a much better place???

That's a good-looking snake.
Did you find him while road hunting?
Here's one I found in Arizona last year.
I'm getting ready to head back to the desert next month to do some herping.

I can find them almost outside of my door step.. Sometimes within a few hundred feet of home... That goes along with the Northern Mojave Green to boot.. Never seems to be a shortage of them little buggers...

These are great pictures! I admit I am not eager to meet one of these in the snakes's native environment (dad from TX taught me great caution about rattlesnakes) but they are GORGEOUS!

Just awesome! Wish I could run into one of them over here!!! We have our WDB's, but the "nicer" varieties are pretty rare.

Great shots, Tim!

I'm with you on that one!

He's beautiful! I'd have to do a happy dance, bad knee and all, if I ever found one of those fellows. (Of course I'd then have to call someone and report an exotic animal sighting.) We have diamondbacks and timber rattlers and they're pretty enough, but sidewinders are just so cute!
